Gingerbread Cookies

6 - 8 c flour 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt 2 tbs ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg 1 c shortening
1 c sugar 1 egg
2 c molasses 2 tbs vinegar
2 tsp baking soda 1 c boiling water

Sift dry ingredients except soda
Cream shortening & sugar. Add egg & beat well until light. Add molasses & vinegar. Add dry ingredients except soda. Last add soda dissolved in boiling water. If needed add more flour to make workable. Roll into ball & chill overnight.
Roll & cut. Bake at 350° 8 - 10 min.
