All in One Quiche

1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. Bisquick
6 tbs. butter - room temperature
3 eggs
pinch salt
1 c. diced ham, turkey, chicken, or bacon
2 green onions chopped
1 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350°
Combine first 5 ingredients in blender and mix well. Turn into greased deep 9" or regular 10" pie plate. Add meat - poking into batter. Top with onions and cheese. Bake until top is golden - about 45 min. Let stand 10 min. before serving.

Almond Cake

1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
2 eggs
2 c sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c milk
1/2 tsp almond extract
Cream butter til soft
Add sugar beating till fluffy
Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after ea.
Add s flour, bp & salt
alternately c milk, extract
blend
Pour into greased & fl ring pan. Bake 350° 40 min.
Frosting:
3 tbs water
1/3 c sugar
boil 3 min
3 c confec. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c soft butter
1/2 tsp almond extract

Apple Crisp

6 apples sliced
2 tbs lemon juice
1 tbs water
1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
3 tbs butter
1 1/4 c crumbs

Apple Crisp from Hull's Union Church

1/4 c sugar 1 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon 1 c flour
6 c sliced summer apples 1/2 c butter
Add white sugar & cin. to apples & put in buttered shallow pan or 9" square cake pan. With hands crumble together brown sugar, flour & butter. Cut into bits. Sprinkle over apples & bake at 375° for 30 min.

Bark

40 unsalted saltines
Melt 2 sticks oleo and 1 cup brown sugar
Boil for 3 minutes. Pour mixture over crackers.
Bake at 400° for 6 minutes.
pour 12 oz chocolate ships and spread. Break.

Bess Ivertz Kringler Cakes

2 c flour Icing
1 c butter - cut in chunks 1 c sifted confec sugar
1 c & 2 tbs cold water 1 tsp butter - soft
3 eggs 1/2 tsp almond
1/2 tsp almond 2 - 3 tsp milk
oven 375° crushed nuts
1/2 flour in medium bowl & cut in half butter. Add the 2 tbs of water, a tbs at a time stirring constantly. Gather mixture into a ball, divide in half - then press ea. half into a 12" x 3" rectangle on a cookie sheet. Set aside
In medium pan bring 1 c water & rest of butter to boil. Simmer & remove from heat when butter melts. Add remaining flour all at once. Beat till mixture forms ball. Add eggs 1 at a time. Add almond & blend, spread the mixture evenly over dough on cookie sheet & bake for 45 - 55 min. until bolden brown. Ice over cooled pastry & sprinkle w. nuts.

Black/White Cookies

1/2 c dry milk
1/2 c margarine
1 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
Cream the dry milk, shortening. Sift together flour, soda, salt, set aside. Beat margarine - milk mixture with sugar, vanilla until light. Add egg, stir in dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 375° 10 minutes.

Blueberry Buckle

Mix together thoroughly:
3/4 c sugar
1/4 c soft shortening
stir in 1 egg
1/2 c milk
sift together and stir in
 2 c flour
 2 tsp baking powder
 1/2 tsp salt
2 cups blueberries
Spread butter in greased 9" sq. pan.
Spread with topping:
 1/2 c sugar
 1/3 c flour
 1/2 tsp cinnamon
 1/4 c soft butter
Bake 350° for 35 minutes

Breaded Stewed Tomatoes

1/4 c chopped onion
1 tbs margarine
1 can low sodium tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1 clove
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp sage
1 tsp sugar
1/4 c dry low-sodium bread crumbs
sauté onions - add all but bread - cook 10 min.
remove bay leaf
add bread crumbs to tomato mixture

Broccoli-Corn Casserole

1 10 oz box corn 1 beaten egg
1 10 oz box broccoli 2 tbs butter melted
1/2 c grated cheese 1/2 tsp onion
1/2 c cracker crumbs 1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c cream 1/8 tsp garlic powder
 1/8 tsp pepper
Mix together. Spoon in 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.
Cover with 1/2 c crackers. Drizzle with 2 tbs butter.

Burger-Beans

2 cans B&M brick oven baked beans
1/2 lb. chopped beef
1 onion
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chili sauce
1 tsp prepared mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Simmer chopped onion until clear in 2 tbsps. fat. Add meat and brown lightly. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Bake in slow oven for 1/2 hour.

Candied Sweet Potatoes

6 peeled sweets, cooked
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. salt - 2 cloves (optional)

Arrange potatoes, which have been cut in half lengthwise, in uncovered baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients and boil 5 min. Pour over potatoes and bake 375°, 45 min. baste occasionally.

Cheese and Wine Bake

6 to 8 slices stale or lightly toasted bread
1/2 cup chicken bouillon butter, garlic clove
1/2 pound Swiss cheese, grated (2 cups)
1 tsp salt 1 Tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp mustard 1 cup dry white wine
1/2 tsp paprika 3 eggs
1/2 tsp. pepper

Mince the garlic clove and cream it into enough butter to spread the bread with. Then spread it, and put the slices butter side down in a big shallow cake pan or casserole dish.
Beat up the eggs, and to them add the wine, the bouillon, all the seasonings, and the cheese. Pour this over the bread and bake uncovered at 325° for thirty minutes

Chicken Pot Pie

Stew chicken with salt, celery and onion. Remove chicken and add dough to boiling broth.
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 stick butter
Add cream to make it roll able.
Roll out about 1/2" thick. Cut in 2x2 squares and put in broth. Cook for 15 minutes. Serve in bowl and serve chicken separately.

Christmas Crunch - Marie Anderson

1 1/3 c. pecans, coarsely chopped
1 1/3 c. golden grahams
1 1/3 c. small pretzels
1 1/3 c apple jacks
Mix all of the above.
1 lb almond bark. Melt in microwave. Stir into cereals. spread on waxed paper on cookie sheet. Chill till firm. Break & store in tins.

Copper pennies

1 tsp salt
1/4 c vinegar
1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 c oil
1/2 c chopped pepper
1/2 c chopped onion
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp mustard
Simmer til onion softens. Thicken with corn starch. Boil carrots

Creamy Baked Chicken

Lightly grease 13 x 9 pan
8 boneless breasts
Swiss cheese - 8 x 4" slices
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/4 c dry white wine
1 c herb stuffing mix (Pepperidge Farm)
1/4 c butter

Arrange chicken in pan. Top w. cheese slices. Combine soup & wine. Stir well. Spoon evenly over chicken. Sprinkle with stuffing mix. Drizzle butter over crumbs. Bake at 350° for 45 to 55 minutes. Yield 8

Crock Pot Corn Chowder

3 c corn
2 medium potatoes
1 chopped onion
2 c milk
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 c chicken broth
1/4 c butter
Combine all ingredients except milk & butter & cook 7 hours. Pour into blender & puree. Stir in milk & butter. Cook on high for 1 hour.

1 c flour
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c margarine
cinnamon
pat of butter

1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c flour
1/4 c butter

Dark Raisin Bran Muffins

1 1/2 c unprocessed bran
1 1/4 c milk
1 1/2 c whole wheat flour
1 tbs baking powder
1/3 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 c (1 stick) butter ( or unsalted corn oil margarine)
1/4 c molasses
1 egg (or 2 egg whites)
1/2 c raisins
Preheat oven 400°
1. Combine bran and milk and let stand 10 min.
2. Combine dry ingredients and blend well
3. melt butter. Off beat add molasses, blend, then beat in egg.
4. add butter mixture to soaked bran and blend. add to dry ingredients and beat well. Stir in raisins.
5. spoon into muffin cups and bake 15 - 20 min.

Dot McClarren Cheese Pie

Crust:
4 Tablespoons margarine
4 Tablespoons Sugar
1 cup of Flour
1 egg
1/2 Tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
Press in pan - bottom and sides
Filling:
3/4 lb. cream cheese
1/2 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 heaping tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon van.
1 tablespoon lemon juice or fraction more
1 cup of milk
Use deep dish 9" tin, put crust all way to top. Only 1 c. milk
Cream cheese and sugar. Add eggs and all other ingredients except milk. Beat fast speed 5 minutes, then on slow speed 5 minutes. Add milk and beat until smooth.
Bake 1 hour at 300°

Dot McClarren Pudding Cake

Crust: 1 cup of flour, 1 stick oleo, melted. 1 cup of chopped pecans. Mix and spread in ungreased pan. The size of the cheese pie pan. Bake 20 minutes 350°. The crust should go over the whole bottom and sides.
Filling: 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 cup Cool Whip, 8 oz. cream cheese. Mix and spread on cooled crust.
Topping: Mix 1 small package of Instant Choc. pudding, 1 oz. vanilla, 2 cups of milk. Spread over cream cheese mixture.
Whip 2 cups of Cool Whip and spread over the pudding. Grate Hershey Bar on top and refrigerate. Good, but boy what calories!

Dried Beef Dip

2 - 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 - 1/4 lb. pkg. dried beef - shred into small pieces.
1 - cup sour cream
1/4 cup green pepper - chopped finely
1/4 cup onions - chopped finely
3 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
Pepper to taste

Mix together, refrigerate, then heat in oven 350° until warm before serving. Serve on petite rye bread or crackers.

Fudgies

1 can chocolate
1 stick butter
3 eggs
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Bake above 325° 20 minutes (?)

Frosting:
4 oz chocolate
4 tbs. butter
1 c. sugar
4 tbs milk

Gingerbread Cookies

6 - 8 c flour 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt 2 tbs ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg 1 c shortening
1 c sugar 1 egg
2 c molasses 2 tbs vinegar
2 tsp baking soda 1 c boiling water

Sift dry ingredients except soda
Cream shortening & sugar. Add egg & beat well until light. Add molasses & vinegar. Add dry ingredients except soda. Last add soda dissolved in boiling water. If needed add more flour to make workable. Roll into ball & chill overnight.
Roll & cut. Bake at 350° 8 - 10 min.

Hamburger Casserole (crockpot)

1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef 3 med. onions sliced
2 large potatoes, sliced 2 stalks celery sliced
2-3 medium carrots, sliced 10 1/2 oz cr. of mushroom
8 oz. peas, drained soup, undiluted
Brown beer, lightly. Place layers of vegetables, in order given in pot. Season in layers with salt and pepper. Put beef on top of celery. Add soup. Cover and cook low 6 to 8 hours.

Irish Bread

2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 t. baking powder
1 c. milk
1/4 box raisins
1 tbs shortening
1 tsp salt
1/4 c. sugar
Mix all ingredients together. Add raisins last. Bake in greased loaf pan for approximately 45 minutes at 325°

Irish Cake

3 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
4 tbsps. shortening
raisins
1 cup milk

Sift dry ingredients. Blend in shortening. Add raisins and mix through flour. Add milk and stir to form dough. Knead lightly. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes

Jean Keatley's Pineapple Punch

1 lb sugar
1 qt water
1/4 tsp salt
6 oranges - 36 tbs orange juice
juice of 3 lemons - 12 tbs or 2 cups
rind of one lemon & rind of 1 orange
can of pineapple juice - 1/2 of large can
Simmer sugar, water, salt & 2 rinds 15 min.
Strain & cool. Add juices - freeze this in flat pan
Break frozen mixture into bown w. 4 or 5 qts ginger ale

Jeans cheesecake

1 1/2 graham cracker crumbs 350° 1 hr.
2 T brown sugar 1 add hr in kit.
1 T cinnamon
6 T melted butter

3 8 oz cr cheese 2 c sour cream
1 1/2 c sugar 1 c heavy cream
4 eggs 1 T vanilla
foil around bottom
fold in sour cream & whipped cream
do not open door

Knox Blox

4 envelopes Knox unflavored gelatin
3 pkg (3 oz) flavored gelatin
4 c boiling water
Combine gelatins. Add boiling water. Pour in large shallow baking pan 9 x 13 chill

Lemon Sponge

2 egg whites
1/2 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt sub.
1 1/2 tbs. flour
1 tbs butter
1/4 c lemon juice
1 tsp lemon rind
1/2 c skim milk
Beat egg whites until stiff, then add 2 tbs sugar and beat stiff.
Combine salt and flour with remaining sugar in 1 quart bowl then rub in butter w. spoon. Add lemon juice and rind. Mix well and add milk. Fold in egg whites. Pour into 3 c baking dish. Place dish in shallow baking pan then set pan on oven shelf and pour boiling water into pan to 1/2 " depth.
Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

Lou Lou's Baked Beans

2 large cans Campbells pork & beans
5 piece bacon - cooked
1 onion - grated - sauteed in bacon fat
1 tbl yellow mustard
4 shakes worcestershire sauce
4 tbs brown sugar
2 tbs barbeque sauce
Bake 350° for 1/2 hour

Luncheon Sandwich - Marie Anderson

1. slice pumpernickel bread
2. leaf lettuce
3. thick slice ham
4. thick slice turkey
5. thick slice Swiss cheese
6 slice tomato
7 sliced hard boiled eggs
Cover with 2 tbs thousand island dressing

Lynn Snyder's Sauce and Meatballs

1 lb hot Italian sausage
1 lb ground round
2 sm cans tomato paste
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
Onion powder and garlic powder
1 egg
1/2 c bread crumbs
3 tbs parmesan cheese
3 cloves garlic
olive oil
Sauté garlic in oil until golden. Discard garlic. Brown 3" sausage in oil (15 min) Add all sauce and paste, plus 2 8 oz cans water, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powders. Cook over med. heat. Mix round, egg, bread crumbs, cheese, s&p, garlic and onion powders, plus 4 tbs of sauce. Mix and form meatballs and drop gently into sauce so they are covered. Cook over low heat 45 min.

Marie Anderson's Zucchini Casserole

2 x large Spanish onions
2 x large zucchini
1 lb mozzarella cheese - shred
1 can tomato paste
2 c boiling water
sugar - heaping tsp
parmesan cheese
slice & saute onions in oil for 1 hour - don't brown.
Peel, cut and seed zucchini & quarter it in long slices. Layer bottom of oiled casserole w. zucchini. Sprinkle w. bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.
Add can tomato paste to onions w. 2 C boiling water & sugar. Cook for 5 - 10 minutes. Cover zucchini w. half of tomato sauce. Layer sliced m. cheese on top. Pour rest of sauce & sprinkle w. more cheese. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

Maxie's Franks

1/2 onion, chopped (or 2 tbsps.)
2 tbsps. cooking oil 1 tbsp. brown sugar
3/4 c. catsup 1 tsp. prepared mustard
3/4 c. water No 2 1/2 can sauerkraut
10 or 12 frankfurters or hot dogs

Sauté onion in oil until tender, then add catsup, water, sugar, mustard and bring to boil. Add drained sauerkraut to casserole dish, putting split franks on top. Pour on sauce and bake uncovered at 350° for 30 minutes.

Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies

cream together 2 c butter
 2 c sugar
 2 c brown sugar
add 4 eggs - 2 tsp vanilla
mix 4 cups flour
 5 c oatmeal
(mix small amount in blender - after measuring - to powder)
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
Mix all ingredients. Add 24 oz chocolate chips, one 8 oz Hershey bar grated & 3 c nuts.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Make golf ball size cookies 2" apart. Bake at 375° for 6 min. Makes 112 cookies.

No-Bake Oatmeal Cookies (6 doz. one tsp. size)

2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter or margarine
Mix these ingredients together in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and add:
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
3 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup shredded coconut - if desired.
Drop by spoonful on waxed paper. Cool and serve. Puffed Rice or Rice Krispie's may be used instead of oats.

Orange baked chicken

4 breasts
1/4 c frozen orange juice concentrate undiluted
1 tbs soy sauce
1/2 tsp ginger
Combine orange juice, soy sauce & ginger. Place chicken in pan. Brush w sauce. Bake about 1 hour basting occasionally.

Potato Stuffing

4 peeled boiled potatoes
1/2 loaf stale bread
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
1 large onion, chopped fine
Mash potatoes, soak bread in warm water for a minute.
Squeeze out all water. Mix al ingredients with hands.

Pound Cake

6 eggs
3 c flour
3 c sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 c milk
1 c Crisco
1 stick margarine
2 tsp vanilla
Beat together for 20 minutes. Cook 350° round pan
1 hour 10 minutes

Raisin Oat Muffins

1 1/2 c raisin bran flakes
1 1/4 c milk Combine flakes and milk and let sit.
Combine:
1 1/2 c whole wheat flour
1 tbs baking powder
1/3 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
Melt 1/2 c butter - add 1/4 c molasses
1 egg
add butter mixture to soaked bran & blend. Add to dry ingredients & beat well. Stir in 1/2 c raisins.
Spoon into muffin cups & bake 15 - 20 min.
Heat oven to 400°

Sand Tarts

Beat:
3/4 c butter
Add:
1 1/4 c white sugar
Add:
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
Add 3 c flour 1/4 tsp salt
Chill dough several hours
Preheat oven to 400°
Roll dough until very thin.
cut and place on greased cookie sheets
Brush tops with white of an egg. Sprinkle generously with sugar.
Bake about 8 minutes.

Slushie

Boil 9 c water
 2 c sugar to dissolve (cool)
Add 1 (12 oz) orange juice
1 12 oz lemonade
1 1/3 c Brandy
Mix and freeze

Spicy Pumpkin Muffins

1 1/2 c all purpose flour
6 tbs sugar
1 tbs baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 egg
1/2 c milk
1 c pumpkin puree
1/4 c melted butter
1/2 c golden raisins
heat oven to 400°
1. Combine dry ingredients and beat well
2. Beat egg w. milk, pumpkin and butter until smooth
3. Stir pumpkin mixture into dry ingredients
 and blend until moistened. Stir in raisins.
4. Spoon out into muffin cups and bake 15 - 20 min. until lightly browned.

Spinach Salad

2 sm bags spinach
1/4 bag Pepperidge Farm Poultry dressing
2 hard boiled eggs diced
2 strips cooked bacon - crumbled

Dressing:
1/2 c sugar
1/3 c vinegar
1 small onion - chopped fine
1 c oil
2 tsp prepared mustard
1/2 tsp salt
pepper

Spinach Surprise

1 pkg. frozen chopped spinach
1/4 c. chopped onion
4 tbsps. butter
pinch of salt
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vinegar

Cook spinach with onion. Melt butter, add spinach, well drained and stir it. Then add salt and sour cream, and blend together. Finally stir in the vinegar and serve.

Strawberry Icebox Pie

Graham cracker crust (rolled thin)
1/2 stick butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar - cream well
Add 1 egg, beat until fluffy - spoon into baked shell
Fold one large box of drained frozen strawberries (sliced) into one cup cream, whipped. Place on top of creamed mixture and let set in refrigerator for several hours.

Swedish Nuts

Preheat oven to 325°
3 1/2 c walnuts
1 c sugar
dash sugar
2 stiffly beaten egg whites

Place 1/2 c butter on cookie sheet

Fold sugar and salt and stiffly beaten egg whites.
Fold in nuts.
Melt butter in cookie sheet and spread nuts out in same.
Bake 30 min - changing every ten minutes.
Drain

Texas Beef

meat tenderizer and garlic powder on meat
2 T teriyaki sauce
2 T Worcestershire sauce
2 T liquid smoke

Twila's Italian Love Cake

1 pkg chocolate cake mix
2 lbs ricotta cheese
3/4 c sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Frosting:
1 small box choc. instant pudding
1 c milk
1 8 oz cool whip
Oven 350°. Prepare cake as directed.
Put into greased and floured pan 13 x 9
Mix sugar, eggs, cheese and vanilla until smooth.
Pour over cake batter.
Bake 1 hour.
Frost when cool.

Whole Wheat Mac N Cheese

8 oz whole wheat pasta shells
2 c 1% cottage cheese
1/4 tsp dry mustard
2/3 c Kraft's sharp cheddar flavor American cheese food, grated
1/3 c evaporated skim milk
3/4 c whole wheat bread crumbs
1 tbs parmesan cheese
1/8 tsp pepper
Preheat oven 350° Spray 2 qt casserole w. Pam. Puree cottage cheese. Slowly add cheese food & mustard. Blend until smooth. Set aside. Cook pasta. Toss w. cheese. Add milk. Pour in dish. Mix parm. cheese w. crumbs. Sprinkle on top Bake 20-25 min.
