Bess Ivertz Kringler Cakes

2 c flour Icing
1 c butter - cut in chunks 1 c sifted confec sugar
1 c & 2 tbs cold water 1 tsp butter - soft
3 eggs 1/2 tsp almond
1/2 tsp almond 2 - 3 tsp milk
oven 375° crushed nuts
1/2 flour in medium bowl & cut in half butter. Add the 2 tbs of water, a tbs at a time stirring constantly. Gather mixture into a ball, divide in half - then press ea. half into a 12" x 3" rectangle on a cookie sheet. Set aside
In medium pan bring 1 c water & rest of butter to boil. Simmer & remove from heat when butter melts. Add remaining flour all at once. Beat till mixture forms ball. Add eggs 1 at a time. Add almond & blend, spread the mixture evenly over dough on cookie sheet & bake for 45 - 55 min. until bolden brown. Ice over cooled pastry & sprinkle w. nuts.
